Default The "new" Zebra strings

Hi folks...I been shooting the old Zebra strings for years on my Mathews. My question is, what makes the new Zebra strings "better", or different?. I just picked up a new "Hybrid" cable for my bow. Can these strings, and cables be intermingled?. I mean, can you use an old Zebra string, and a new Hybrid cable? Thanks in advance for the help.
