Gibblet I also make strings, but nowhere near the amount that you build so I speak from less experience, but I am a real anal dude. I have used both 8125 and 452X and will say that when I put a string made from 8125 on the stretching machine (modified lat pulldown machine) its length is directly proportional to the amount of weight applied the more weight the longer it gets, take weight off and the length retracts (like a rubber band where the elongation is not permanent) on the other hand 452X once you put enough weight on it to settle the fibers that is the final length regardless of wether more weight is applied, (you may get a maximum of 1/8 inch on a 56" string at approx 300 lbs) and from shooting through my chronograph I can say that the speed advantage of 8125 is irrelevent (approx 2-4 fps) which can be overcome by building a 452X string with a reduced strand count while still maintaining total stability. I just ordered some Brownell Xcel 3 color and am looking forward to trying that out as it is suppose to be similar to 452X. As I said I only make strings for myself and a few locals using a Brownell jig so Im not an expert but my findings would lean towards 452X as the superior of the two.
Good luck
