insert glue
What do you all use to glue in your inserts into carbon arrows? I’m afraid to use Bohning ferr-l-tite that the heat will in some way damage the carbon arrow. One guy has told me to use ordinary hot melt glue the kind they use for crafts |
RE: insert glue
I use 24hr epoxy for inserts I have tried the 5 minute epoxy but it is too brittle and the inserts ended up coming out.

RE: insert glue
2 part epoxy. The hot melt glues just don't work very well in carbon.

RE: insert glue
I also like 24 hr. epoxy. But make sure you clean the inside of the shaft with a Q-Tip and acetone or denatured alcohol. Do not use isoprophyl as this has oils in it.

RE: insert glue
I use super glue. I've had better luck with this than the 2 part epoxy.
|
RE: insert glue
I use epoxy or also have used the same cement I do for fletching. Seems to hold.

RE: insert glue
Goat Tuff.........works great.

RE: insert glue
Never heard of Goat Tuff!

RE: insert glue
I use different materials. If you're working on Axis arrows, I use the provided epoxy, but on all others, fast set works good and doesn't hold as much weight as other glues!!

RE: insert glue
I use Fletch-tite Gold seems to work fine a little more exspensive but what isen't today. Just a word no matter what you decide to use make sure you rotate the insert a few times to make sure the glue is dispersed equally arround the shaft or you will never get yur broadheads to tune properly. Also when the glue is drying leave the arrows virtical with the point down so it dries evenly and dosen't run even slightly to a side. Mike
