Thanks gibblet for advice on string wax
 

Just used some BCY ML6 wax for the first time yesterday. Now I did rub it in after shooting instead of leaving it be(hard to break all habits), but this wax does seem to soak into the string better resulting in no flaking and waste of wax. So far I am sold on this simple product and if it does prove to preserve and extend a string's life and shooting characteristics......I will be a happy camper!

Good deal will have to give some a try.
Gibblet no wax should be use so strings wear out faster right.;)More business.I know your busy allready.

I was going to post something similar…I heard somebody state on this web sight that the ML6 wax is good due to the silicone content and a few other things. I had 3M 100% silicone spray on my tool box at the house, so I sprayed the strings and cables. I can’t believe how well conditioned they look and feel and the spray dries so it doesn’t collect dust or grime. It even soaked in good and conditioned the serving around cables and string.

you can getthe sprayat an auto parts store, but i don't know if its 100% silicon like mildots.

its awesome isn't it coug. good good stuff.

Hmmm.... that's got me thinking; I might have to put in a sample request the next time I work with my 3M rep! :)

bcy-ml6 bowstring wax. its softer than textite, but still tacky, and contains silicon. you can get it from any number of online suppliers. its the best bowstring wax i've found so far.

My mistake guys, I went home and checked out the silicone spray lubricant and it is made by Loctite PN# 81246, not 3M. I have all kinds of 3M products on and in my tool box, so I assumed wrong.

I’m not sure where I got it, I have products on my tool box thatI have used in the aerospace industry for years. They are supplied to us from work. It works great as a mold release for igniter bosses on jet engines. When I heard somebody say silicone spray I wanted to try this product out since I knew it was silicone.
