Maybe it's the meds I'm taking for a chest cold but I went to the timberline website and don't have a clue as to what the purpose of it is. It appears to mount to the riser and is stationary.

If you're dead set on removing one, I personally would remove the peep sight and go with the timberline no-peep.
that's what I did and am happy with my choice.
Not dissing the peep sight...it worked just fine for me but I like the no peep.
I agree with mobowhuntr....the speed gain would be neglible I think

How does this serve as a peep?
All I know is it's an optical device with some kind of dot inside.You setit so you see the dot at your perfect anchor and you know something ain't right if you get drawn back to shoot and can't see the dot.
