RE: Istalling a peep-without bowpress?

a fellow my next door neighbor works with, so excited about getting a new string for his compound bow for christmas, got his bow, stood it up, leaned over it, took a pocket knife out of his pocket, and proceeded to cut his string in half. he suddenly appeared on the other side of the room with an almost broken, badly bone bruised arm.
Lucky for him, thats all that happened.Coulda been a fewteeth and other parts of his body.

O.K now that the easy way of removing a string without a press

I just squeeze my bow like a thigh master and install the peep. Whats the problem?:D:D

And this is the easy way of installing a peep and string,a little bit of a workout, but if in good shape, will have it on in no time:D

Rev--you crack me up with those pics

Save yourself the time and money and do it like a real man ;););)
J/K of course

just think of it like this.

one trip to the bow shop or order a press or take a chance at buying a new set of limbs and a string and any injuries that may occur. just not worth it.

At risk of sounding like a nut case. I just use my thumb nails to part the strands. Maybe its the thumbs of an auto mechanic but I have never (yet) damaged my strings.

USE CAUTION I tried the dull butterknife a few years ago and POP! about half of the strands snapped. Luckily the whole string didn't go or I may not be able to type right now. Needless to say after a new string I let the shop handle that chore for me. One day I will own a press though.
