I looked at some of the 2002 bows at Scheels spoorting goods and they wanted over $700 for them.

No offense to the archery shop guys but some go beyond what I consider a reasonable mark-up for the service provided. And to be honest the service provided at a lot of them ain't all that great. Now I know some are, and I have found one in my area I really like, but the shop I bought my current bow in is crap and the guy in the new shop has done a lot to help me correct the thing they either didn't do or did wrong.

I'd buy my bow through him in a second but they won't give him a Hoyt dealership because a new Scheels is opening nearby next year. I really like my Hoyt but I really hate their distribution policy!

Sooner Hunter,

I already own the finest bow ever made in America. The Bowman Accu-Riser!
Also own a custom Red Man, Hoyt Superstar, PSE Mach 8 and Mach 10
All great American bows.
Plus 3 custom recurves also made by American craftsman!
Hey, just because a bow is made in America doesn't mean it's superior.

Sag.

If the primary complaints are the price, the name and the way it looks, it must be worth looking at seriously. The bow must be something special if that's the best they can do. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

It will be interesting to hear Frank's report on the Razortec after he gets one. (A given, no?) Tec riser and split limbs with a cam system similar to the CPS. Wonder how the noise, vibration, and recoil will seem to a guy who's been shooting one cammers these last few years? One would think they should be able to make them pretty quiet though.:)

Avoid the inevitable until it is absolutely unavoidable!

I stopped at the local shop yesterday and asked if seen the new Hoyt models and what he thought. He said seen em I have them on the shelves. Apperantly he has a demo model of the RazorTec and the SuperTec.

So of course I jumped at the chance to shoot them. I fell in love with the RazorTec. It was so smooth, nice hard wall quiet and vertually no vibration with a small doinker and fast. The new cam and a half is supposed to be very easy to adjust draw length.

I was not particularly fond of the SuperTec. It has a very very hard wall, fast and smooth, low let off and a little vibration. Don't get me wrong it was very nice, just not what I was looking for, but I bet it will be one of the top sellers.

I am starting to save up, because that sweet little thing is going to be mine as soon as they are availabe. It is funny the wife did not think it would happen that way. I think I can sweet talk her into with the time I have.

Brian,

The Razortec is only offered up to 31 inches...and from what I can tell so far that is a true 31 inches..not 31.25 or 31.5...so you are a little bit out of luck on that one. Same things goes for the Dynatec as well. Sorry.

Jeff,

You are gonna love this one. Imagine taking the Darton CPS system's smooth draw and respectable speed and coupling it with a quiet release and vibration whatsoever.

Say Hello to the Hoyt Razortec. :)

I have to go set it up and do some &quot;reviewing&quot;...be back soon.

Oh...and &quot;ditto&quot; on Upnorth's comments.
