Mike, I should mention my shooting 3D with an Allegiance and Old Glory. My scores with the Allegiance were as good as with the OG, and I liked shooting it better. I got a Constitution for this season, and this bow is a real shooter. I'll see what happens when I can get outside. Good luck with whatever you choose.
BTW, I shot my best scores to date with an 04 P40 Dually shooting 311 fps.

Funny you say that Phil.......I saw in the IBO yearbook that the Shooter of the Year in MBO for 2005 was also shooting a Pro40 Dually and even a touch faster at 314fps.

I have to agree with Matt / PA on this one. The accuracy difference in terms of forgiveness is negligable between the two. My 2 best 3 spot vegas scores currently are a 442 shot w/ the Allegiance, and a 443 shot w/ the Constitution. You can teach yourself with hard work practicing the right things to shoot a less forgiving bow well. You cannot speed up a bow anymore than what it will shoot at 27.5" and 5gpp.

Last summer my main shooting partner was shooting a Mathews Icon at about 280fps. My Patriot was shooting at around 300fps. There were many times I would hit the bottom of the X or 10 ring, and he would drop out. On the way to the target I would ask what he shot it for, and we both shot it for the same distance. Most of the times I have placed or won local events, it is by only 1-2 points, or even X count, so if 20fps can catch you one or two extra lines per event you have a huge advantage. As Matt said, for anyone wanting a 3D specific bow, that won't be shooting almost exclusively in ASA events, make sure your shooting at least in the 290's, IMHO it is a huge advantage. My personal best 3D score of a 296 (30 targets, x's as tie breakers only, no 11's or 12's) was shot at 305fps, a lot of those targets were 30-35 yards andI KNOW speed caught me a few lines that day.

This year, my Constitution will be shooting in the 295-300fps range for the open stakes, and my Allegiance will be shooting in the 310fps range for the HC stakes. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight........nomsayin? ;)

Everyone thanks again for the help and advise.
Rick I did have the same thoughts with the speed vs forgiveness question. I had a conversation in college with a team mate about having a really strong arm or an accurate arm for outfielders. I said you can always practice accuracy. Sort of like Wild thing from major league:D
Thanks again
Mike
