Trykon buzz fix

When I first brought my Trykon home (actually I told my wife it followed me home), I noticed a very slight buzz in the string. The bow was still as quiet as my neighbors Switchback, so I didn't give it much thought. Well, a couple of weeks later the Hoyt dealer called me and asked me to bring it in for a fix. He said the Stringshox sometimes separate the string enough to cause some vibration. He tied real small rubber "tarantulas" at theend of both Stringshoxandthat eliminated the sound completely. How many dealers would call you back like that?!

Sounds great....and your right, that's a quality shop...personally I didn't notice any twang, vibration etc on the Trykon....it was quite impressionable. I will forward that information along as well.

Hats off to that PRO Shop.;)

Our customers don't get out of the door with that problem. The first time we heard that 'buzz', we found the problem and immediately corrected it. We've got a lot of them sitting in a drawer that we've replaced with either whiskers or Sims Leeches.

We usually give the customer the choice of which they'd rather have. After all, it's their bow and they should know why we replaced the 'factory' product and have a choice in the type ofreplacement.

I just took mine out and didn't put anything in the string. Seems to be quiet enough for now. I noticedmost of that buzz went away after I shot it for awhile, letting the strings get stretched, then went ahead and got everything in time. After that I removed those ugly leeches and it sounds perfect.

I was considering taking them off of my UltraTec as well. That thing is just so darn quiet I wonder if it would make any difference at all?? Besides, how much speed do I stand to gain by taking them off?

Oh, and hats off as well to that guy. My shop here is equally as good. Sadly, not all are. Glad you have a good one.

Mobo, not sure if it's the same with the Ultratech, but my buddy lost speed when he removed those balls from his trykon, so he put them back on. He said he lost~ 4fps.
I guess hoyt was using them as speed balls in addition to string silencers.

Only one way to find out;).
