RE: NEED INFO FROM 3-D COMPETITION SHOOTS
Come on now guys I feel left out. I am the only one with a question that didnt get a reply. I spent 2 days going through old posts and with the new 2006 models out I could really use some help. My questions are
1. What is the better bowtech model for competition shooting? 2. Would you want a fixed rest or drop away rest? Which brand? 3. Sights? I am still trying to find the rules for shooting in the hunter or advanced hunter category's. I dont know whats legal vs whats not. New to this site and to IBO life. Just eager to jump in with both feet. I shoot a Hoyt SuperTech 70lb, whisker biscut, whitetailextreme 400gr arrows, Cobra Viper 5-pin sight, full dampening setup for my hunting rig just looking to get into target competition. Thanks again for the look. Steve |

For hunter class in IBO no lens, 4 pins max, 12" stabilizer 4" vanes/feathers and screw in points max distance 35yds approx. Hope this has helped cloudy the water a little more:);):D |

RE: NEED INFO FROM 3-D COMPETITION SHOOTS
Start looking at the bows that have a longer axel to axel. More stable. dont look for speed in a bow. You want forgiveness and accuracy. Especially first starting. Dont buy a bow cause someone tells you its the best or awesome. More often than not, the shooter makes the bow. Shoot for yourself. Then make a descision. I've seen to many people spend a ton of money. and later after getting feel of the bow. They hated it. The big (2) 3D competitions ASA & IBO. which ASA you are limited on speed by which class you shoot. While IBO its arrow grns. The biggest thing you'll find is that judging yardage is the hole secret. I had Jeff Hopkins give me some real good ideas for yardage judging that I'll share if interested. Helped me a ton last year at the ASA pro/ams.
good luck and practice....... |
