Choice of vanes...
 

This is a question for all the bowhunters that shoot indoor, 3D and field as well?

I want new vanes for 3D and field competitions. I'm currently shooting Duravanes 2.5", but wants to change. Anybody that has shot or can give me some advice on the 3D Duravanes (2.3")? Any experiences or other vane recommendations? The vanes will be for 3D and field only....not for my hunting arrows..

Have you looked into flex-fletch vanes?

They are said to be the most durable vanes by many sources, and also extremely quiet.

I have yet to see them, ore to evaluate them, but they have many styles available, colors seem top notch on their site.

They currently have a deal where they will give you a dozen free vanes of your choice. As soon as I get mine I'll post what I think.

Bohing blazers. light, stable, and super durable. I shot a 3-D soot this summer and a little club and their targets were kinda gettig worn I shot all the way trough targets and the only thing sticking out was my nock. Pulled the arrow through the other side good as new.

I shoot blazers for hunting.. I alsoshoot 2.5 and 2.3.. There only difference is a slight drop in the arrow at 45 yards with the 2.5... I like fletching the 2.5 better than the 2.3. If it's working for you, why change?

I have had great experiences shooting the Duravane3D Vanesfor ASA 3D Tournament Competitions. I have also used the Arizona 4 " Vanes for bowhunting for many years and had very good results as well. I have experimented with the Blazer Vanes , while they flewvery wellthey were the noisiest in flight of the vanes I experimented with.
I then found VaneTec Vanes and experimented with them, I have shot my best ASA 3D Tournament Competitions Scores to Date using Vanetec Vanes and found through info from the VaneTec Owner and followed up with experimentation that I could shoot a 3 inch VaneTec Vane with a 100 grain 4 blade Muzzy Broadhead and shoot dead X's out to 35 yards consistantly versis using a 4" competitors vane and 4" VaneTec Vane that would shoot slightly high and right everytime. I have since switched to using VaneTec Vanes exclusively because their vanes have proven themself to preform fabulously every time.
