I agree they are much more forgiving I used to shoot them all the time.
KNow I shoot vanes because some times the feathers are not as durable & theydo make a whisling noise in flite.To a deer that is not alert it may not matter but to one that is I personally thought it might.as far as reacting to the string! |

I shoot finger style and prefer feathers because they correct arrow flight faster then vanes with less weight.

By the way, in case you were wondering, that one on the right IS a 23/64" cedar arrow buried in the back end of a 2216. I was trying to figure out if cedar shot any different from aluminum at 45 yards. They didn't seem to. |

Vanes, I shhot through a wisker bisquit, seem to hold up better
