What size broadhead?

I know this qeuston has probably been asked several times, but.......

I am shooting 27.5 inch carbon fury arrows at 55 lbs. My draw is 16". I have muzzy 3 blade 125's. I figured that using the bigger head will increase my kinetic energy. I have not been able to draw on a deer yet this season, however, they fly real good and the range using the practice blades.

I have done some calculations on my own and determined that the 125's will slow my velocity and not make much of a difference with using a lighter arrow tht will fly faster.

Now my thoughts are turing to lightening my arrows with 100 gr heads. This will give me a faster arrow and a flatter tragectory.

What are your thoughts or experiences?

The link I posted is for a front of center caculator (foc). I think you would be just fine with a 100 grain head. I try to keep my foc around 10.5 to 11. I like them a little heavy up front. As long as you stay in that range you should be fine.
Thelighter arrow will shoot a little faster, but will lose some KE like you said. The faster arrow though will be a little more forgiving if you slightly misjudge distance. To me thats important.

I agree with Aka on this one ,unless you prefer like some do the extra weight up front . The extra speed should also give you a bit more penetration as well. So from 125's to 100's won't make a whole lot of difference when speaking of penetration ,but you'll notice the better flight charactoristic's ,which you should be more concerned about .

For those who asked, yes, my draw is 26". Sorry, a typo.

Thanks to the others for your info.

Id give magnus 100 grain cut on contacts a serious look . If they are sharpened correctly , they will penitrate much better than the muzzy's .

Go with the 100gr broadhead.

Thank you all for your insight. I will stick with the 125 for the rest of the season (less than a month!) but I will switch to the 100 for next year. I'll have to re-sight the bow and I have it pretty well yuned right now.
