Your Opinion Please

A friend of mine has a problem. He shoots right handed. His right eye has something wrong with it, so he actually looks through his peep with his left eye while still shooting his right handed bow. I think he needs to get himself a left handed bow and begin to shoot the proper way. Others have told him to get rid of the peep, get a kisser button, and shoot with both eyes open. I don't think he is a good enough shooter to shoot without a peep. And I know he doesn't have the time to perfect shooting without one. What do you guys think? He is begining to listen to too many different people and I would like to set him straight! Thanks MWX

He should switch up to the left-handed bow, IMHO. If his alignment is off, he will not be as accurate as he can be. That is why it is very important for beginners to learn which eye-dominance they have, and get setup accordingly. Proper alignment is critical to good form and shooting.

I know guys that have had to switch over to left-hand because of injury or some other issue, and it doesn't take long to learn. He must have patience, that is the toughest part. Ask Field 14 more about the switching subject, he has had to switch from right to left in the past couple of years, and he is shooting quite well again. Just my own thoughts, Pinwheel 12

When I first learned how to shoot i used a kisser button and a peep sight and was taught to shoot with both eyes open, I havent missed yet.
