stabilizer question(s)
I just bought a new stabilizer (one that is supposed to absord shock).
I put it on and noticed a considerable difference in the wieght of the new compared to the old (new felt much lighter) In fact, it was only 7 oz compared to the 12 oz of the old. The olf is also about 2x longer (10"). My question is: Are there any thoughts/ideas about using the differents stabilizers. The new one definitely felt different and made the bow feel different but didn't seem to effect my shooting. Bow doesn't "tip" forward upon release like with the longer, heavier stabilizer. Any info would be helpful. Thanks |
RE: stabilizer question(s)
Sounds to me like your first one was the lead weight type--just to give you a more stable bow for aiming steady. The second sounds like the new modern stabilizer--lighter weight w/sound dampening materials and also takes the kick out of the shot.I like the second better for hunting.JMO.

RE: stabilizer question(s)
I believe there is an ideal stabalizer for each bow and probably each bowman so it's a good idea to check out a few.

RE: stabilizer question(s)
The ultimate solution would be to add a SVL Module. That would give you the slight front heavy balance you desire and at the same time add a tremendous vibration dampener. 1 Mod weighs aprox. 3 ozs. which is alot of weight when added to the front of a stab.Something to look into and it's what I did to a GK Tranq Shorty I put on my Q2<img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: stabilizer question(s)
What is the type of the new stabilizer?
Hey, size may not matter but it sure IS nice! |
RE: stabilizer question(s)
I have been using a tranquilizer on my q2xl & like it very well for hunting. It matches what you describe when it comes to the second type. Lite & absorbing makes a great hunting stabilizer.
IL-Cornfed seems to have a great system using what he said, I would imagine he would have very little shock if any! |
