New-to-me Bow, did I get ripped off?
 

I recently purchased a Hoyt Rebel (not sure on the year) for $100. The guy I got it from already had a peep sight on it and a few other things. Was this a good deal or not? I won't be hunting with it for atleast 2 years. I'd llike to buy a few things to upgrade it during that time and would like to know if it is even worth it or should I buy a new bow?

Is it an accurate bow? It can be. Will that bow kill a deer? Certainly. Would you regret saving up and getting a newer bow, (used even) from a place that can help you with setup, tuning etc.? Probably not.

Hey man. That is my exact old bow. I still have it and shoot it ocasionally. To answer your question, though, that is a fair price for the bow. After your get it tuned and with practice, you'll be breaking nocks before you know it! I could go pick mine up and shoot a 3" group right now (if it wasn't night) :D

My second bow was that model. I basicly learned how to shoot with that bow. I miss it.....[8D]

Thanks for the reassurance. So now I need to get it tuned, right? I'm new to archery/bowhunting and any advice would be helpful.

Get it tuned and make sure it is done by someone reputable. They should lube the cams and the limb pockets. It also maybe a good idea to restring the bow and throw on some new string silencers. It depends on how old the stuff that is on there now is. Good Luck!
