New bow question
Hello all, New member here, wanting to get into deer hunting (Bow)
I Just bought my first bow - a PSE Triton. at a archery shop.
the owner was very helpful in the set up.
When I draw my bow back it makes a 'ping' sound, is this normal?
It seems kinda odd ,that a sound like thatmight spook a deer?

At what part of the draw cycle does the ping occur. Beginning, middle or end?

RE: New bow question
Thank's Well, I went down to the shop , and he put the felt on theDraw stop, it did quiet it down considerably. I stayed and practiced for about 1-1/2 hrs adjusting my sights, I believe i'm all set.
Anyway, went I got home, I inspected the cam, and cut the felt down a little bit, a little neater. TheDraw stop is also the piece that adjusts the let-off percentage, you just unbolt it and flip it around. Upon further inspection, I noticed a little rubber bumper installed (slips into a round chase) on the other side of the stop!
I removed it and reinstalled it on the string side I am suprised that the guy at the pro shop didn't know this. Well, needless to say, the rubber bumper, buffers the slap of the string on the stop, making for a quiet draw. I decided to keep the little piece of felt in there, to further help with noise. The only thing is that it will reduce the draw length by the thickness of the felt - which I don't really mind.
