My peep turned on me, what do I do?
I have one of those peeps that sits in the string on an angle with two grooves for the string. Anyway, I went out to shoot this morning to get ready for a hunt, and couldn't see my pins because the peep had turned. So I drew quite a few times, and every few draws I could see through the peep, but even then sometimes it would SLOWLY twist some while I was looking through the peep to where I couldn't see again.
What do I need to do to get it right? I don't have much time before my hunt. Thanks!!! |

Are you saying that your peep has rotated too far ,if so then take a couple strand's off of each colour and move them to the opposite side in the direction you want to peep to go . You also might be able to adjust it up or down a tad without moving strand's .

Yes, it rotated so instead of looking through the "o", I am lookingmore or less at the side of it.

Sounds like you need to get your bow in a press and put a couple twists in the string. My guess would be that your string stretched a bit.

I was wrong about looking at the side of the peep. It is turned so the two parted sets of strandsthat go on each side ofthe peep are what is blocking my view, not the peep. I have a string loop and sort of twisted it one way and twisted the peep the other (not forcefully)and it works now. I only hope it doesn't go back to being screwed up at the moment of truth!

if it does, just gently adjust it with your nose, then take the deer down.

Ideally you'd put it in a press and put a twist or two in the string. You can use your nose, chin, tounge, or anything else to turn it at full draw. You can also try moving your loop in the direction that its twisting, but careful not to move it up and down any.

why don't you take it up to Len's?

I can do that, but would rather just do a quick fix and be done with it. My wife has to stop by and get some arrows from him this week...
