fletching adhesive removal
Now I that I've gotten my bitzenburger (per the advice of this forum), I need some more advice. What is the best way to remove the old adhesive from the shafts ? I use the zip-strip for the fletching removal. I think that goat tuff glue was used on these shafts ? ? As usual, I appreciate all advice. Many thanks again...

RE: fletching adhesive removal
Goat Tuff makes an adhesive remover for the fletching glue, I am sure you can find it in Cabelas or something.

Those cheap linoleum knives with the curved blades work great.

A sharp utility knife will remove the fletching and most of the adhesive. Then use a Scothbrite pad and lacquer thinner to remove the remainder of adhesive and carbon residue. Also wipe the base of plastic fletching with the lacquer thinner to remove any of the release coat before attaching to your arrow.

RE: fletching adhesive removal
You can soak the arrows in Acetone for 5 minutes. it should just wipe right off after that. I did to some gold tips I spary painted a crest on recently. Just make sure you remove the nocks. The acetone will melt them. A word of caution, don't leave the arrows in the acetone much over 5 minutes. It could possible damage the fiber.
