wind affecting arrow flight?
I was out shooting this morning and the wind was blowing between 20-25 mph to my right. Now at 10ydsI was shooting about a inch to the right but as i moved back my arrows flew farther and farther to the right!! I was just wondering if this is common even with the fast speeds on the new bows, or is there a chance my sights may be off a hair?

RE: wind affecting arrow flight?
Your sights are okay. You done good by getting out and shooting in a stiff crosswind to find out what wind will do to your arrow flight.;)

RE: wind affecting arrow flight?
I wont even hunt in the wind unless I am using mechanicals. The wind does some crazy stuff to arrows.

RE: wind affecting arrow flight?
The wind will not only have an effect on the arrow but also a bigger effect on your bow and bow arm.

RE: wind affecting arrow flight?
It has been raining non-stop here for 10 days. It finally stopped last night and I was looking forward to getting out to hunt today, but I made the decision not to. Report said 25-35 MPH winds with gusts to 40. Well, I'm sure it was windier than 40 at times. I went to the range, and it was hard holding the bow on, and I had some shots that just were way off, I attributemost of the slop to the wind. As much as I want to get out, I'm glad I didn't today.

Thanks a million guys, I'm def going to sleep better tonite knowing that it was the wind that was making my shootin way off. I was actually out shooting tonite in the dark under the shed light when the wind died down a little and my shots were MUCH truer then this morning...
