how about a switchback?
 

I am just getting back into bow hunting since selling my Browning Mantis four years ago. I am looking at buying a Mathews Switchback rigged out with a Copper John sight and a Quick Tune 360 rest. It has been a long time and a lot has changed, any input would be apreciated.

Would be a great setup (Bowtech would be better LOL) but seriously i would go with a drop away rest. Ripcord drop aways are awesome and work well with a Mathews. Just my 2cents

I agree on going with a bowtech as well. I've shot both and just prefer the bowtech. Bowtech is shooting faster if thats your thing. Also go with a drop away rest, much better than a two prong. But this is only our opinions, If i were you i would go to a local archery shop and shoot every brand that you can. Some just feel/fit better than others.

Ya i would go with a bowtech also. My friend has a mathew's switchback and i just love my bowtech better than his and it shoots better i think

The bow brand you choose won't matter. They all shoot great and differences are not only minor, but mostly related to "feel" not accuracy. You can easily find large numbers of people who prefer the opposite of what anyone says here. The key is to have the new bow set up properly with a good string, and the right arrows. The string and the arrows, will make a hundred times more difference than the bow brand. There are tons of hunters who are thrilled with their Swithbacks and there's no reason we could point out, why you wouldn't be too. Of course, I can make that same statement about a large number of bow brands on the market.

Choice of sights and rests are very personal and there is no such thing as the best. It depends on what features are important to you and your personal preferences.
