string replacement necessary??

i now have 1 strand of my string that has broken. does one strand warrant a replacement asap? i plan on getting it done soon, but hate to do it in the middle of the 1st week of the season. i have to work the second week so i won't have much hunting time, but would have time to retune itas needed then. i'm not gonna practice much till i get it replaced either, just hunt. thanks.

It depends on your tolerance for having your bow "explode" in your face. If your string is new, there is a small chance it could last for quite awhile. If it's an older string, it may be a sign of imminent failure.

By the way, I've had a string break on me at full draw, and I wouldn't pull the bow back even once with a broken string - after that experience.

I'd replace the string right away. Although it may be alright to shoot for a little while, I wouldn't even mess with it. I'd get it replaces asap.
