What do you think about the new carbon arrows on the market?

If you are talking about the ones that are wraped around a alluminum arrow , I think they are great .:D

Easton's AXIS and Beman's Black Max arrows with H.I.T. are hard to beat. I've heard a lot of good stuff about Carbon Force's Radial XWeave too. Carbon Express has a similar arrow, Maxima or somethin' like that. I like the Easton/Beman ones mostly because of HIT, but also because, unlike Carbon Express, they're made here in the US. About the same price as XX78's too.

I tried the Axis last season and was not convinced that they offered a significant advantage over conventional ICS style carbons. If you are referring to some other new style of carbon then please specify. I think the conventional carbons have made positive strides towards improving variances in weight, straightness and spine.

I have a Hoyt ZR200 MagnaTech at 65#. I shoot easton 2117 with 125grn deadheads. I was thinking of switching to carbon because I kown they transfer the kanetic energy better. Just trying to get an Idea of what I should get

Whether you choose ICS or AXIS-style carbons doesn't really matter. What does matter is how well the arrows shoot out of your bow. Before you buy a new dozen of one type,try a few singles and go from there.

There are lots of arrow makers and each making several grades of carbons. You want netry level ones you pay less and get some that aren't that great. You want better then you pay more and get better quality, and so on.
There are different size carbons for some special applications, such as large diameter one for target shooting. Then there are the standard diameter (most bign about 19/64") down the the skinnier ones like the Easton Axis which are usually used for hunting, 3D and target.

I've used a lot of them over the years and know that you get what you pay for. Just how much quality you need is for you to determine. Some makers do a better job than some others, and I won't do any bashing here. Let's just say that for the most part I shoot shafts like ACC's, Gold Tip Pro 22 Series, and Vapor 23 Speeds.

In all honesty I wouldn't get any of the H.I.T. shafts, I think the Axis shafts and the Beman shafts are junk. It's just a personal opinion. But when I worked in the pro shop at Gander I had tons of guys bringing them back in with the broadheads half way down the shaft. For whatever reason, those inserts just won't stay in place very well. Go with Gold Tips and you can't go wrong, trust me.
