Arrow Cresting?

I was thinking about cresting my arrows. I would prefer to paint them on rather than use wraps, mainly because the wraps are so expensive. When it comes time to replace the fletchings, how do you remove the paint? Or does the paint not come off once it is covered with laquer. Or, do you just paint over the old paint?

RE: Arrow Cresting?

you have to use like MEK or acetone.you can get it at your hardware store or home improvment store.this will take the paint off and you do have to take it off.I don't know if you have a crester or not but they are about 90.00 to 135.00 just fir the machine.then you have to buy paint and brushes not cheap ones either I have done this before with a old record player motor.you need low RPMs.you can also use model paint and then after it drys put a water base super poly urathain over the cresting this will protect it.I think you will save some money going with wraps.bohning makes nice wraps.
