Taking a chance with small cracks.

Wellhere it is, almost deer season and I have 2 tiny cracks showing up in the fork of my top limb. The cracks are not through the width of the limb and are very small, and hard to see. I can feelone crack withmy fingernail.I have already made plans to buy my son a bow for his upcoming birthday........he is turning 24 and now is serious about taking up bowhunting with me:), something of which I have been hoping for for several years. He can shoot lights out, just never would bowhunt. When I draw the bow and shoot there are no noises, and anyone watching the limb can see nothing. So hopefully I can make it through bowhunting season with no problems, I am debating about buying a new set of limbs as the warranty is out. Or wait for the '06 models or catcha new '05 on clearance.

I wouldn't take the risk. First thing you should dois find out if it's a crack in the limb itself or a crack in the finish. There have been alot of problems with cracks showing up from the dipping proccess.

Don't fool with 'Russian Roulette'. It only takes one shot to kill you.

I thought I had the same problem with my Mathews, it turns out it was the finish that cracked. I scraped it with a razor blade and touched it up.
Be safe not sorry

Thanks for the advice. Gonna take it out into the sunlight tomorrow and do an "inkcheck"to make darn sure its not cosmetic. This should show the depth of any crack. The bow is 5 years old, so I doubt its cosmetic.

Don't shoot that bow Cougar! If you replace limbs you may be down a day or so re-tuning but if it blows up at full draw you may be down much longer!

Camo duct tape

LOL! Hey, if it will hold a windshield in a car at 200mph it will hold your limbs together!

I would tell you to get rid of that old Martin and get a good bow, ;), but with the latest add/poster they just came out with, I just can't do it! Now that's my kind of gal! I would get it checked out though, trust me it's no fun when your bow comes apart!
