peep sight?
i'm having a problem with my peep sight. when bow is at full draw, the string rotates just enough that part of the string lines up with the peep and blocks my pin. oh yeah i shoot with a release and a nock loop. any help? is there an adjustment i can make?

RE: peep sight?
try twisting the string,,on my bow i tried a no tubing peep and it would do this so i would twist it a few time,,i also have a hard d-ring on my bow so once in a while i would just loosen the screws on it and the string would untwist several times,,then i got tried of haveing to twist it to get it aligned i went back to my old tubing peep and dont regret it just my .02

RE: peep sight?
For a half turn you can try twisting your string as suggested above.
If that doesn't cut it you can offset your string loop to place the peep true at full draw. I went to a no-peep this year and love it. if it hunts wellI can see me placing one on my back up bow, time will tell. |
RE: peep sight?
Twisting the string is ok for larger adjustments, but if its just a "hair" off, you can put a strand or two from one side of the peepto the other. That usually does the trick.
Rotating the loop can work too. |
RE: peep sight?
If you are using a string loop just turn the loop in the opposite direction the peep rotates when you draw it. Do this until it rotates into the correct spot. That is one of the advantages of using a loop.
If rotates a lot then you will have to press the bow and add or remove a half to one twist on the string. Until you can get a chance to do that you can nock an arrow and then turn the string before hooking your release up. The nock should hold the string in place while you draw. Not something I would want to do when hunting though. And if you have a new string shoot it a few hundred times before making any adjustments. Paul |
