I shot the ross and decided to buy what it was copied from the Switchback.
Heh...I have a switchback, have owned literally 20 something other Mathews bows since 1992, and sold them for several years.

I can assure you that other than the fact they both have a single cam, the Ross is like no Mathews ever built. The Devil is in the details.

Trust me it's as close a copy as copy right's will allow. It's a great bow but your right, it's no switchback.

I believe you mean patent, not copyright (copyrights are based on "expressions"...i.e. literary works, etc)

From a design and QC standpoint it's nowhere close. But I really don't want to argue with you about it. Enjoy yourMathews :)

We'll you got me on that one I must say. Ize just jacking with ya anyways. Enjoy that Ross if it is as good as their amplifiers you'll have yourself a fine bow. Your bow maker lives up the street from me. He has a connection with Ted Nugent because of their Ross amplifiers. Just a little history for you.

No problem on my end:) When I get the bow and can put u some pics, I'll elaborate on the differences in construction/design. Most are quite subtle, and easily missed with acursory glance.

Don't get me wrong, Mathews builds a nice bow. But the Ross is exceptional for Quality Control and quality of construction.

Now, my other major hobby is my guitar playing. Not fam w/ the amps..if this guy builds amps as well as he builds bows, I'm sure it's a helluva design (not a fan of the nuge as a hunter at allor a guitar player much, but he has always had killer guitar tone)

Hey John! :D

I'm not sure *what* happened to be honest. I kinda forced myself to head down to the shop one night..fling a few, BS'ed with the guys @ the shop, etc. We got couple days of cool weather, and the guys @ the shop offered to take me hunting (since my ex and I split up, I no longer had a place to hunt because I hunted on our property and the public woods we backed up to) and both of those helped too. I can't say for sure why, but I got a little nip from the bug again...quite strange actually...I've had almost no desire to do anything archery related in quite some time. When I bought the SB, I really wasn't "into" the whole thing.Reckon I just couldn't force myself. But I'm really trying a back to basics approach with equipment, etc..its all about "fun", hopefully that will allow me to enjoy the sport again:D

I've rambled enough.....

toodles
