You can look up specific info regarding Hoyt's past years' bows on their website under the Technical section. But, to answer your question succinctly, I believe it was the limb style. I think the Contender limbs were long than the Rebel XT limbs though both were solid, fiberglass limbs.

If I am wrong then I will edit this later.

...oh, and the Rebel XT was only available with Accuwheels.
