Is this sight worth the $.
 

I had a trophy ridge matrix sight in my hand today, and am thinking about trying it. Does anyone use this sight, and what do you think of it? Is it easy to adjust and how durable is it? I like the pin design, but want some feedback from my fellow techies before making a decision. Ok, let me have it. Thanks, Bhunter32.

There's been a number of posts on this but - again - IMHO - it's not worth it!

I had problems with my windage moving, others have had pins break. I also used the sight out of a blind while hunting Turkeys and it was WAY dark - the 2nd pin on down were GONE when hunting from inside a blind.

Again - just my opinion!

BHunter32, I had them on my bows and grew to dislike the verticle pins. I felt it blocked too much of the view in the pin guard. I, too, had trouble with the windage adjustment moving on my Mighty Mite. They sent the screws, and that helped stop it. I put on Impact Cosmic Lites and love them. They're a moveable pin, with the brightest pin out there.

I agree with huntmup not worth it the movement thing happened to me and many others on this board and some have clearance problems

I have the Trophy Ridge Nitro Extreme and loved it. Then the elevation started moving on me. The sent screws and I loved it less. I'm growing weary of the vertical pins which make gapping difficult. Now I have a Spott-Hogg Sure Thing and love it! Check with me in 6 months and I'll probably be tired of it and have a new sight that I love.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I've got several sights including the Matrix. I had problems with the Horizontal as well as it was moving on me. After a trip to Home Depot I found some allen head screws that I could really tighten up and haven't had a problem since. I really like the vertical pins and think they're a big plus. I haven't had any pins break but could see that happening if you caught them on something sturdy. Adjustment is a big plus with this sight, no tools at all once you get it set up fairly close. Haven't tried the glow ticks yet but will this Sat. when the season opens. Overall, I like the sight but is it worth $100+? For me yes. If you like it and have the dough give it a try. If your a little tight I'd go with something 1/2 the price. You'd probably be just as happy.

I too thought about the Trophy Ridge sight but was skeptical because I kept hearing about people having problems with pins breaking easily. Instead, I bought the HHA Tripple Threat from Cabela's. So far, I can only say good things about this sight. It has the vertical pin alignment and I've had no problems with seeing the pins (only when I find that it's too dark to shoot anyway). The pins are also made of an aloy making them stronger. No problems with parts coming loose as they are all secured with allen screws. I also bought the light that screws in and can be turned on and of with just a twist. Another great thing about the Triple Threat is that it's about $20 cheaper than the Trophy Ridge. If you are set on the vertical pin alignment I would recommend that you check this sight out. If not, there are a lot of other quality sights to choose from. Hope this helps!
