adjusting poundage on bow
i have a golden eagle evolution bow and it is rated for 60-70 lbs. the bow is new and a last year or so model. i got a good price on it. my question is that it is at 77lbs even though it is rated to 70. how do you turn down the poundage to the 60 or even a little below. had a severe shoulder injury in march but don't want to miss bow season. it is hard to draw right now and a little uncomfortable on the 90% shoulder. doc says ok to draw. any help would be great

RE: adjusting poundage on bow
You will notice a screw on the limb pockets. Loosen the screw to decrease your draw weight. It takes about five turns to drop ten pounds.
I am not sure how much you should lower it, since the weight is a bit weird. You may want to wait for a more knowledgeable person to come in here. |
RE: adjusting poundage on bow
Just as Zak says loosen the screw on the limb pockets to 60.Not sure if i would go below 60lbs if i were.
The draw weight on some bows is changed on the cams, and not on the limbs. CAn you adjust the letoff on your bow? It would make it easier to hold the weight. |
RE: adjusting poundage on bow
yuo should be able to get it down to 60 pounds.since yuo said your maxing out at 77lbs.I could almost guarantee your cable has to many twists in it.take it to a pro shop and have them check the lenght of the cable.when the cable gets to many twists in it it increases your pondage.brad
