I'm heading to the beach soon and would like some recommendations for a good book on shooting. I don't care to read about hunting adventures etc. etc.....but moreso about how to execute the shot, tuning etc. etc.

I've read some but most deal with traditional archery. Helpful but not specific to compuonds. You can take your search to the local library and see what comes up.

I'd take Moyby Dick by Herman Melville. It's a hunting adventure that will keep you at the beach until you can't see anymore and move you just as far as the dome light in your car. It's not your run of the mill hunting adventure. You'll be tempted to take up the spear.

I'm not much of an expert on beach-reading. I've always taken binoculars instead.[8D] See if you can come up with a copy of "Idiot Proof Archery" by Bernie Pellerite.

I will third Idiot Proof archery. Although I have never read any of Larry's books. Idiot Proof Archery is actually sort of enternaining. The guy has a decent sense of humor.

If not that I love Dean Koontz or a good King novel. Odd thomas is excellent.

Have you read Intensity? I'm a big Dean Koontz fan andhave read most of Dean Koontz's books except for a couple of his latest, and it was one of the best. His later work isn't as good, in general, as his older stuff IMO.

Nope, that's one of them I have not read yet. I just started reading him this year. I've read about 12 of his books so far, some older some newer. I read The Taking in a day and half, I just couldn't put it down. And I don't read that fast really.

Maybe I will go get that one tonight?
