RE: 02 Patriot
I own a couple Patriots including an 02. I've got shoulder problems and wanted to turn one down for most of my target practice. I turned it from 71 down to 63 with no problems at all. Actually had the dealer do it as part of a tune up so if they backed it out too far, it was there problem not mine. Notwithstanding the bowtech manual, the dealer informs me these things will turn down 3+ turns. It shoots great and I'm amazed at the difference the 8lbs makes. I did loose about 14fps turning it down. I intend to keep it turned down and use it as my back up hunting bow--400g arrows at 256 with fixed broadheads are still more than enough for any deer or elk. Frankly, I wish I'd turned it down years ago! My only bad was shooting a new allegiance set at 6llbs. Shooting my same 400g arrows, it shoots them 280fps. I can't seem to get the need for a new allegiance out of my head.(curse word edited out)those bowtech engineers!

RE: 02 Patriot
From what I understand, you can back the limb bolts off 2 1/2 turns from the point of being tightened down fully. This should put you at around 60 lbs. I own 3 bowtechs and they are all the same. I would not turn the bolt more than 1 turn before turning the other bolt. good luck.

RE: 02 Patriot
I'd recommend you contact a dealer and see about getting yourself some 60# limb's for your Patriot ,just another option

Like Nubo said.
New limbs are about $75, and you can sell the 70's on ebay to recover some of the cost. |
