Blazer Vanes

I currently use blazer vanes but atm i shoot the with a straight set-up and was wanting to go to an offset 4 degrees set-up. Was just wondering, with a 4 degree offset on shafts with an OD of 0.29". will there be contactbetween the entire length of the vaneand the shaft?

Cheers

I use Blazers on my CX200's which are .291" in diameter. I use a helical clamp with as much offset as I can get and the vanes fully contact the arrow. Remember that the Blazers are only 2" long so even with a lot of offset there isn't a lot of contact area to worry about. I have used Bohning Instant Gel and regular crazy glue gel in the past with no problems. I have made a few arrows with the EZE Crest wraps and the vanes seem to stick well to them also. Good Luck!

I use BlaZers and I use a Bitz. jig but as far as degree I am unsure, I set mine up to where the vane makes full contact with the shaft for the entire length of the vane and the fly awsome ..

for broadheads i helical the crud out of them. sometimes i do so much the back left corner won't quite go down all the way. doesn't bother me at all. may add a little sound to flight, but stand down range with even straight fletch and you can hear an arrow whizzing thru the air.

questions 14,
I glued mine on with about a 4 degree right offset. The font right side edge doesn't quite make complete contact with the shaft. BUT, when I'm done with the arrow I just put a small bead of glue (Fastset gel) in this gap and it fixes the problem. I feel that I can tell the difference in accuracy when they are fletched this way. It definitely spins the arrow better.

Hope this helps, Kev
