Ok I had a trophy taker rest puton my older bow. When the guy put the string from the rest to the cable, i think he kinda cut a few strands loose. There is a few that look real frayed. I put wax on them and twisted back and they look ok now. What do you think?

If the strands are cut, the string is ruined. Do not try to draw your bow back. The string normally frays though. If it is only frayed then it should be fine.

Keep a close eye on them and if you notice it getting worse then I'd be contacting Gibblet and getting a new set .I've had this happen as well as long as it's only 1 str5and just snip it back and add the wax to it ,but again keep a close eye on it .

I have heard that some people cut a strand or two off their bow. I don't think it could hurt very much, butI would take it in just to make sure. I was told that if you are missing some strands the others will weaken and eventually snap.

ok i think it is ok then. Plus it is not on the string that is smaking all the time.

your cable catches a lot of force. i would change it sometime soon. that said, you should see some of the strings the pro-shooters here shoot. if they didn't wax them down it would be 1 big fuzzball. some of them look like strands are shredding. they are really superstitious about changing their setup until absolutely necessary - and beyond.

Personally I would change it.....regardless. It isn't necessarily just your safety that you have to concern yourself about but your peace of mind as well. If thoughts of it breaking are nagging at the back of your mind then you are never going to shoot to your potential or trully have confidence in your equipment.
