NAP Rests and Bowtech

I am going to cut and paste an email I sent to NAP about their rests not having enough adjustability on the new Bowtech bows.

The question:
I have the QT 4000 mounted on my Buckmaster bow and I really like it. I was looking at a Bowtech Defender VFT and the dealer said that this rest does not have enough left-right adjustability to properly tune the bow. He said that the Bowtech riser is too thick and the rest is about 1/8" to far to the right when adjusted all the way to out. Is this true?
Thanks

The reply:
He is correct. Bowtech has over the last couple years increased the thickness of their risers and has moved centershot further to the side with the binary cam system. This has rendered many of the rests currently available on the market useless.

In reply we have started making changes to our rests to provide additional centershot adjustment. If you would like to send us your rest we will update it with the new parts. Send it to my attention at the address below. There is no charge for the update. Once you have the updated rest you will be able to use it on the Defender.

Hope this helps.

Cary also told me on the phone that the new rests they are producing have longer shafts but there is no way to distinguish these newer rests from the older ones by the packaging. Basically you would have to open them all up and compare them to each other.

Hope this helps anyone looking to mount a NAP rest on the newer Bowtechs.

That's good news. The NAP 4000 is a very good rest.

Great info. I have a NAP 2k and a Bowtech Might Might. It is a 2002 model but I can't get the vanes to clear the rest. I will email NAP and see what can be done.
