Excellent read!! I wholeheartedly agree with his choice of bows and why he chooses what he does.

It is a good article. Bill Winke is probably my favorite bowhunting author. The only thing that I disagree with Bill with is the axle to axle length article. I will take that 33 inch 3.5 pound bow over a 40 inch 4.5 bow for hunting any day.

Very good article. I differ with him slightly in a couple areas, but what's important is that he is actively thinking about the hunting situation where certain equipment can affect his result. For instance, his choice of mechanicals because he's hunting open areas with more wind, is probably a well reasoned one. For me, I'm hunting thick woods at close ranges, so there is no benefit for me there. I especially liked his explanation of the benefits of using only one pin set at 25 yards.

Dicky V means Primetime (player) when he says PT; if I'm not mistaken <img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>. And that makes more sense to me.

ChiefHeadHunter, I got your email. I replied to it but it wouldn't go through for some reason. The error message almost make it seem as if my email address was blocked.

Actually chief, dicky v does mean playing time when he says PT; for prime time player he says PTP.

He's not TOO far off, I think he pushes heavy bows a little hard. A litter draw is usually easier for most people to shoot accurately.

I don't agree or disagree but, I think you should shoot what ever bow feels the best to you(draw length, weight, cam design ect.)
Right now this year for me it's a 60# Patriot with a MZE but to each his own and don't let anyone tell you should be doing this or that if it works for you and you are happy with it.
