size limit for attachments/photos
 

Is there a file size limit for photos that can be posted as attachment to posts on these forums ?

I have a photo file that is 4.2 mb, but it will not attach.

There is, and I don't know what it is. Admin will have to answer that.

If you look at the sticky threads above this there is a thread on posting pictures to your post that will walk you through the process without resizing anything.

Then I don't understand why my jpg files that is only a little over 4,000 kb will not load when the chart say maximum is 100,000 kb for that file type.

Follow the instructions in the post I told you about. You could have posted 10,000 pictures of whatever size you wanted in the time you've spent trying to figure this out.

It's quick, simple, easy, and size doesn't matter.

Thanks, but I do not need/want to join any other sites, etc. - seems to me if this forum has a function for adding attachments to post that it should simply work.

You don't have to join any other site. It simply provides you a link attachment to copy and paste into your post. No membership, no uploaded photos. It takes ten seconds.

You're right-the uploader should work. I've never found it easy. And many other members have found the same thing. As you are finding now.

That's why I've provided you with an easy option.

One takes ten seconds the other takes allot of work.

But do it however you want. Just here trying to provide an easy solution to your problem.
