Default What Browser to get in Chat?

I try to enter chat and it will not let me.
I have downloaded, and installed Java at least 100 times.
I keep getting this -->

This forum uses AddonChat Chat Software.

To use this chat room, you will need to Download Java.

Thank You

Which browser are you using? Chrome and many other newer browsers do not support Java anymore but if you still wanted to use it (chrome) you would have to go into your menu>more tools>extensions> (Find extension and enable it). This is after you downloaded it.

I usually see one sitting in the chat during the day. When I first joined the site I joined the chat as there where 4 individuals in there and they where nice. Chatted for a while but seemed they where the only ones left using it and they preferred using the chat to talk to each other versus forum.

I too have occasionally seen 1 person in chat, although it might just be someone curious who wanders in and then leaves.

Chat was real popular at one time.
To date in the morning there are 2 users.
Terasec and sdeviation.
guy from new York and another from Alberta.

I used Java platform but Windows 10 no longer allows me into chat.
nor does chrome.
be interested in what you find as I'm sure others have the same problem.

Using IE 11 - tried to get into chat - said I had to download Java - downloaded Java - had to disable Active X filtering - got into chat.

(Active X filtering stops a lot of animated ads which speeds up computer noticeably)

Using Windows 7 on this computer - I'll try the other one which uses Windows 10.

I think the endgame here is, if people can still get in, great, they can use it. If not, great, we no longer support it because the company that supplies chat software is out of business. At some point it will just die completely.

OK
Chrome does not work.
However I used Edge from Windows 10 and then clicked on 'Open Internet with'....and you find that in the upper right hand corner of your Edge Page.
You do need to latest version of Java. And I got into the Chat Room.
