NATO Template Zones

Can anyone tell me what "NATO Template Zones" are in relation to shooting ranges. I can't find any information on the web describing NATO Template Zones.
in N.S.W. Australia the Police are making all rifle clubs use this NATO Template Zone.
We think it is just another excuse to close down rifle clubs.

Your probably right about them using it as an excuse to shut down rifle ranges. Here (Germany) they first used noise pollution as a ground to shut down ranges. Then they used lead pollution as a ground.

NATO template zones are basically standardized impact zones. What they don't take into account is the geography or lay of the land.

Signage seems to be the basic premise. Where you have to stick up signs to warn hikers or whomever.
