why is site so slow
 

this site sucks sense it went down ,it loads so slow and i can't hardly get on here. i guess i'll just stop useing it.

No problems here.

I have noticed some threads load more slowly than others. Some won't load at all and I have to get out and come back in to get it up. I think if there are several users all going to the same pages it slows down to a crawl.

Most likely you haven't optimized your browser.

Computers need maintenance to keep them running smooth? When is the last time you ran disk defragment? How about clearing temp files? Full computer anti-virus scan? Keeping up with updates?(anti-virus, Windows, browser) How about Disk Cleanup? Even shutting off your computer completely every now and then instead of Stand By works wonders.

These are the some of the basics that will get your computer running faster.

I do all of the above and the common theme with problems loading at this site seem to come after they do upgrades or maintenance shut downs. Things run well and when they do something major there is always a period of time where there are problems. I don't have any issues on other sites I frequent and most of the time this place loads ok. Just at times this site is slow. I am sure the amount of access gateways on their server are fitted to the expected size of the user base. In days of old when there were hundreds or thousands of people on at once they must have had much more capacity.
