Before & After - Bear Mount

Here are 2 pictures of my bear I shot a few years ago. The first mount was done by a taxidermist who since passed away. The mount looks terrible. I posted it awhile back, calling it the "flying nun" due to it's ears.

I recently brought it up to another taxidermist who did my bear rug for me for another bear shot after that. He went through the "nun" and repainted and fixed the ears. He looks much better now.

I can't blame you for being upset, that first bear pic was something i wouldn't have shown to be honest with you and the second pic is what a bear should look like nice job ;)

WesternMa.....who did the first mount? I'm curious because I had a big problem with a hack taxidermist here in Mass, and I'm just wondering if your another victim of the same guy. Were his initials D.S.?

Moosehorn...
The taxidermist who did the first initials were C.F. LaBlue did the "revised" version. I am very happy w/ how good the fixed mount looks. I wish I took it LaBlue to begin with.
He was a big boy... he weighed 325 dressed.

Hard to tell from pics, but I'd put money on the chance that those are not bear earliners in that critter...first pic...second pic looks as if the original ears were simple re-positioned...

Not a flattering pose either...
