Laquer on antlers?

I have a Moose antler I want to make shine for a project I am planning. What exact product is used for this? Wasn't sure if its just polyurethane or spar varnish or what?

All i ever used was wax and elbow grease! If you put on varnish,it may peel off,in time[imo].

For antler art, I believe the natives use clear deft. For taxidermy I never coat the antlers. Clear deft can be found in the furniture finishing area of any major building supply.
