What to do with coyote pelts...

I called a fur trader, and he said that the more work I do, the more money he'll pay. He doesn't want to have to skin the dog, but he will. The least he likes is fully skinned, rolled up in a plastic bag, and frozen, though he proceeded to tell me the next few steps I could do in preparing the pelt.

Having not yet skinned a 'yote, I'll prolly just roll it up and freeze it, like he said.

If you have other tips for me, can you post them here???

Also, a question: When skinning, what do you do when you get to the ears? Does the skin peal off of them, or do you cut the cartalidge from the inside, or what? Thanks!!

e...If you have never done it, leave the cartalidge on the ears and just cut them from the inside. That's tricky.

Also, you might want to invest in some nose plugs. A couple of the yotes I've skinned smelled as bad as anything I've skinned. LOL:D
