How to tan a hide
 
ive never tanned a hide or anytihng and was wondering how you do it

I did alot of research on this. I was going to buy the kit and all. But I just couldn't the time, and really noticed you need the equipment. Like a flesher. Not an easy way to do it by hand. I found a few tannerys that will do a hide for me for $65 if I drop it off.

You got to flesh it, then pickle it, and it swells, and then flesh it again. You do this a few this a few times and then tan it.

hi I'm new here and am not sure if tanning a hide is what i want. my husband is a new hunter and his first deer I'd like to save the skin. for a buck skin rud or whatever. my husband would like to know how to do this. is it something we could do or is it something we'll have to have done? thanks for any help.

As I posted above, I decided it was too much work and too nasty for me to do without a flesher. Send it off yourself. Here is an address I checked into. Or take to the local taxidermist and he will take care of it for ya. Probably for 100 or so dollars.
