Antler cap
 

I cut my the top part off the skull were the antlers and like the look of the furr on it and was wondering how do i keep the furr on it? I capped all of my antlers before and the furr always falls out.

Well the fur will always fall off, because of bacteria will rot it off. Your going to have to remove the skin from the cap, and at least tan it. Then replace the scalp back on.

as C C said you must remove it first.
there is just no way to get it to stay without first fleshing the hide.to much meat under it to stay with out treating it.you can peal it back to the burr and flesh it and lay it back down.just have to becareful on getting it clean first.

What type of clay is used to make a cap one the antlers are mounted? Also where can this stuff be purchased?
