Need help on how to preserve deer hooves.

I would like to know the best way to preserve deer hooves as an at home project. I saved the antlers and legs from a spike horn from this years opener and would like to make a coat rack.
I was told I could core out the marrow, pack it with salt and let them dry out till next summer. Would that preserve the hide/fur on them as well? Or is there a better way?
Is there anything special I need to do to the antlers? Any tips on this would be greatly appreciated.

the best way is to get the feet forms from a taxidermy supply co.skin the feet and put on the forms.

or you can shape them the way you want and tye till they are dry.mount on plaque for the rack.saw the leg off at the joint , take a piece of wire and get all the marrow out of the bone center and pour full of salt. inject the feet and all aroung the bones with formilhyde(you can get it at the drug store). it will last for years and years, not as long as the mounted ones.it will work for a while.

Thanks for the info.
Have to see if I can find formaldehyde, can't say I ever have seen it in a drugstore, but can't say I've looked either.
Thanks again
