Go to www.taxidermy.net and on their home page go to learn taxidermy. A lot of information there. Also get some of the taxidermy catalogs. Wasco's, Van Dykes, Research Mannikins, Mckenzie's, all of them have all the supplies you'll need, videos, books ect. Wasco's has a set of books called The Breakthrough Manuals. There is so much useful information in those books. Probably the best for any beginner to start out with. Good luck, and don't get discouraged with the first few mount. They'll keep getting better and better as you progress. |
RE: i want to learn taxidermy
Yeah, go to the site that coyote caller said www.taxidermy.net. Go to the forums and you can learn so much. Word of advice though, check the archives with the search on the first page of the forums before you ask questions. Because most basic questions have been answered in the past and this keeps the forums open to new questions.
I have some learning videos and books if you would like to have them pretty cheep. E-mail me at [email protected] and I'll tell you what I have and will be happy to answer any of your questions. Try www.taxidermyreference.com too. Hope you fair well in your learning experience. Christina:) |
RE: i want to learn taxidermy
WASCO has a good video course and the breath through taxxidermy manuals are also very helpful. I started with the WASCO videos you can find wasco at www.taxidermy.net.

RE: i want to learn taxidermy
You may also consider taking classes. I took a 6 week course on small mammals, birds, fish, and game heads. I feel you can learn more hands on in a smaller teacher to student ratio. However, if you cant find the time or money for that, manuals and videos are a definate answer.
