How do you guys reccomend keeping a fish in the frezer to be mounted. I wrapped mine ina a wet towel and put it in two grocery bags, is that good or what?

that should work

in the future if you wrap them in newspaper it tends to work better and is alot easier to get off without scale damage

i also vac pac them in the newspaper that way they dont freezer burn and i can eat them when i get around to mounting them

The wet towel will work fine. Better talk to your taxidermist before wrapping them in news paper. There's a lot out there that don't like to see that. The wet towel also helps protect the fins and tail from damage.

I have had a few done, and what I do is wrap them in freezer paper and place a small pre-cut piece of cardboard in the shape of the tail, around the tail on both sides, to give it some support so it doesn't crack when frozen.

Whitetails has the best method. I prefer people to wrap in news paper vs. towels. Towels can leave impressions in the scales from the terry cloth whatchamacallits. lol. Outside of a monster fish, the fins are what you are looking for in a nice mountable fish. Fins that are not missing, broke or split will have a much realistic and nicer finish than fin reproductions. In many case its easier to cut off a bad fin and replace it then it is to try and fix it.

If you wrap in newspapers, half the time you will be able to read the news off the side of the fish when you unwrap it.It best to use the towel and bags.
