Hi all, I have just got my moose antlers back from my taxidermist. He took his time and did an awesome job with them...

Those look awesome Phil. I like that better than a full shoulder mount actually.
When I eventually take a moose, that's what I'll be having done.

Thank you Jake.. I would of liked to have a full shoulder mount but I didn’t have the space for it. It’s hard enough to find the wall space for these as it is.

I agree look awesome, very nicely done

and I hear you on trying to find wall space, after about 40+ heads and assorted mounts, things here are pretty tight to fit anything else any more Haha!

Thank you mrbb, I only have average household ceilings at the house. So with over 2 feet high antlers before being mounted and 51 inches wide takes away a lot of wall space. Also putting them in an area where they don’t get walked into. Those reasons makes it difficult to put up. But I have two places here. At my camp I have an area that wouldn’t be an issue with around 14 feet of wall space. I haven’t decided to keep them at the house or take them to camp later on. One thing that I don’t understand is they were measured at the tagging station and then by myself at 50 inches wide. When I took them to be scored after they had dried out they measured 51 inches wide. All I can think of is that when they dried they tipped back a little? I have always thought that they pulled in and shrunk somewhat. Oh well I am taking the 51 in spread that they are now..

Nice rack Phil! haha. That mount looks really good and shows off the palmation well.

I'm serious Phil. For a moose I like the look of that better than a full shoulder mount. Moose are kinda goofy looking critters anyway. That really shows the antlers off well, and looks classy.

You have me googling moose hunts again.....

Thank you Cal and Jake..

I hear you on the goofy 🙃 looking side of it. If I had the space I still would of went with a shoulder mount. That gives a better idea on how massive they are..
