Where would I be able to buy just the wooden mount piece that is used for mounting deer heads?

You could just try a simple Google search for 'deer skull plaques' there's a bunch of available sources. Dont forget the wall hanger if you want to hang it on the wall :)

I cut mine out of 3/4" or 1" plywood in the shape of whatever state I killed the deer in and have a woodworker friend route/bevel the edge. Makes a good looking mount and inexpensive.

This place has steel panels in different patterns and in different state/country outlines. Definitely check them out! They also have a bracket so you can hand ur skull anywhere without cutting or drilling into it!
